How To Layer Your Skincare Products In The Right Order
Starting medical-grade skincare can be the best thing you do for your skin (especially in your 20’s and 30’s) - but - if you’re not layering your products properly and in the right order, you’re missing out on glowy benefits! Keep reading for a skincare lesson on how to properly layer your skincare products and when from our expert Defy Aestheticians!
Your Skincare Lineup:
Cleanser: AM + PM
We like to use the Bright Wash Enzymatic Cleanser to protect our skin from free-radical damage during the day and our Gentle Wash Soothing Cleanser at night to remove makeup and impurities. We love how this exfoliating gel cleanser provides antioxidant protection to combat free-radicals and sun damage.
Toner: AM + PM
Add a few drops of toner into your palms and press them gently into your face in the morning to balance your skin’s pH. At night, toner removes excess dirt, oil, makeup, and other impurities from the day!
Serum: AM + PM
Apply a thin serum (we recommend a few drops of Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid) to protect against sun damage and lock in moisture.
Eye Cream: AM + PM
Don’t skip a hydrating eye cream to protect the delicate eye area during the day, and at night to hydrate!
Moisturizer: AM + PM
Opt for a light-weight, oil-free moisturizer that hydrates the skin without leaving it feeling greasy or adding extra shine. Save your richer moisturizers for bedtime!
Sunscreen: AM only
The absolute bare minimum daily SPF (this one has a pretty, sheer universal tint that also doubles as a BB cream!) you need on your face is 30!
Retinol: PM only
Fun fact: save the retinol for nighttime because they’re ineffective in the sunlight!
