What is a Lash Lift?

Let's start with the basics. A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment designed to enhance the natural beauty of your eyelashes by lifting and curling them from the base. Unlike eyelash extensions, which involve attaching synthetic fibers to your lashes, a lash lift works with your natural lashes to create a more lifted, voluminous look. What does a Lash Lift appointment look like?

1. Consultation: Your journey begins with a thorough consultation with one of our expert Defy aestheticians. During this time, you'll talk about your desired outcome, any allergies or sensitivities, and what to expect during the course of this treatment.

2. Preparation: Next, your aesthetician will cleanse your lashes to remove any makeup or oils, ensuring a clean surface for optimal results.

3. Lifting Solution: Then, a silicone pad or shield is carefully placed along your lash line to create the shape of your lashes. A gentle lifting solution is then applied to the base of your lashes, helping to curl and lift them upwards.

4. Setting Solution: After the lifting solution has worked its magic, a setting solution is applied to lock in the curl and shape of your lashes.

5. Tinting (Optional): Many of our clients like to also tint their lashes during a lash lift appointment. This is an easy combo stacking treatment that darkens the lashes for a more defined look. This is also a great add-on for those clients with lighter-colored lashes!

6. Nourishing: Finally, a nourishing serum or conditioner is applied to the lashes to keep them healthy, hydrated, and nourished post-treatment.

The natural eyelash life cycle starts from the time a lash starts to grow until it falls out, typically spanning about 6 to 8 weeks. Lash lifts work with your existing lashes, so as new lashes grow in and old ones shed - the effects of the lift will gradually diminish over time.

• Skincare Routine: Harsh makeup removers, oil-based products, and excessive rubbing or touching of your eye and eyelashes can weaken the lift and cause it to fade more quickly. Opt for gentle, oil-free makeup removers and avoid excess rubbing your eyes to preserve the results of your lash lift!

• Aftercare: Following your aesthetician's aftercare advice is crucial for maintaining your lash lift. This may include avoiding water and steam for the first 24 to 48 hours after the treatment, holding off from using mascara or eyelash curlers immediately after treatment, and applying a nourishing serum to keep your lashes looking healthy and hydrated!

• Regular Touch-Ups: For best results, schedule a touch-up every 6-8 weeks to maintain their lift and darkness.
